Lazio’s match against Sassuolo today comes after a recent Europa League clash, a bad sign for the club.

As reported by Italian newspaper Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the Biancocelesti have not performed well in games that directly follow a European clash this season, with the previous precedent not looking too positive for coach Maurizio Sarri.

In the five matches after a Europa League game this season, Lazio have picked up one win, one draw and three defeats.

After Lazio’s defeat to Galatasaray in their first group game, they drew 2-2 with Cagliari. After the win against Lokomotiv Moscow, they lost 3-0 to Bologna.

Following the Biancocelesti’s draw against Olympique de Marseille, they lost 4-1 to Hellas Verona and after their 2-2 draw against the French side they beat Salernitana 3-0.

Finally, the game after their 3-0 win over Lokomotiv Moscow was the 4-0 loss to Napoli, a sign of Lazio’s lethargic struggles following European commitments.
