Lazio President Lotito Promises Sarri Two Reinforcements in January Window

Lazio president Claudio Lotito has promised coach Maurizio Sarri that reinforcements will be signed in January.

As reported by Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the Biancocelesti president has reiterated his intentions to make some moves in the upcoming January transfer window, looking for both a left back and a backup striker.

Sarri has specifically requested the two reinforcements and Lotito has no intention of letting his coach down, believing in his Lazio project fully.

Whilst there are no concrete targets yet for the left back role, one player being considered as the backup striker is Bodø/Glimt’s Erik Botheim, whose contract is set to expire next December.

Lotito will also need to work hard to reduce some of the deadweight in the Lazio squad, finding new homes for Vedat Muriqi, Gonzalo Escalante, Denis Vavro, Jony, Riza Durmisi and Jordan Lukaku.

The Biancocelesti president is also working on agreeing a two-year contract extension with Sarri, tying him to the club until 2025.
