Despite their best efforts, Lazio Women fell in a tough 2-1 derby loss to rivals Roma Women.
As reported by Italian media outlet LazioNews24 earlier today, the Biancocelesti squad found themselves 2-0 down after only 28 minutes in yesterday’s derby, with Valeria Pirone and Vanessa Bernauer giving the Giallorossi the advantage.

Lazio Women reacted well though, with Noemi Visentin pulling one back in the 35th minute, before Adriana Martin scored the equaliser from the penalty spot in the 59th minute.
Unfortunately for Massimiliano Catini’s side, their hard work was not enough to secure some points, with Benedetta Glionna finding the winner in the 73rd minute.
The stats do not reflect particularly well on Lazio Women – six shots, two on target and 27% possession compared to Roma Women’s 28 shots and nine on target.
The Biancocelesti will now have a few weeks before their next league commitment, with their match against Sampdoria Women scheduled for 16th January.
