Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic was hopeful looking ahead to the future.
Speaking at the Lazio Christmas dinner (via LazioNews24) last night, the 26-year-old Serbian midfielder expressed his happiness at playing under coach Maurizio Sarri and the team’s progress so far.
I love coach Sarri, so far we haven’t managed to do what he asks of us but we’ll find a way to bring back what he asks of us.
We haven’t started well but the results will come.

The 26-year-old Milinkovic-Savic, who is contracted to Lazio until 2024, is a core part of coach Sarri’s Biancocelesti squad, missing only one game this campaign due to a suspension.
The Serbian midfielder has made 22 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1510 minutes. In that time, he has scored five goals and provided five assists.
What to Expect From Lazio’s Europa League Playoff Opponents Porto
His suspension in the 2-1 loss to Sassuolo last week was painfully felt, with the midfield clearly lacking in his absence.
Milinkovic-Savic had a slow start under Sarri this season, having to learn the movements and play style requested by the 62-year-old Italian coach. He has clearly found his footing now, however, and will only grow as the season develops.
