Lazio returned to winning ways with a routine 3-1 win over Serie A strugglers Genoa last night.
Coach Maurizio Sarri’s side finally found a win after two disappointing results in a row, giving the fans something to cheer for in the Stadio Olimpico. Goals from Pedro, Francesco Acerbi and Mattia Zaccagni secured the three points.

Lazio started the match well, having most of the ball but struggling to break down a well-drilled Genoa side.
The Roman club’s first real chance came in the 17th minute thanks to Pedro, with his shot being intercepted by Vanheusden.
The Biancocelesti kept up pressure and in the 36th minute finally found the breakthrough as Felipe Anderson’s run down the left allowed him to serve up a nice ball for Pedro, who found the back of the net to make it 1-0.
Lazio went into the break with a comfortable 1-0 lead, although it was clear that the team should have extended their advantage in the first 45 minutes.

In the 63rd minute Sarri made his first changes, switching out Marusic and Basic for Stefan Radu and Luis Alberto respectively.
11 minutes later the 62-year-old Italian coach made another substitution, taking off Cataldi for Lucas Leiva.
A minute later Luis Alberto’s whipped corner was met by Acerbi, who found the back of the net to double Lazio’s advantage to make it 2-0 in the 75th minute.
In the 81st minute Luis Alberto again made the breakthrough, serving up a lovely assist for Zaccagni to make it 3-0.
Genoa clawed one back in the 86th minute, with Melegoni netting a consolation goal.
After three added minutes the match ended, leaving Lazio with a smile as they secured a 3-1 victory.
