Galatasaray are interested in signing Lazio striker Vedat Muriqi and have offered an exchange deal with Patrick van Aanholt.
As reported by Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the 27-year-old Kosovan forward has done little to convince coach Maurizio Sarri of his qualities this season, and has even found himself benched in favour of using Felipe Anderson as a false nine.
Tension Between Lazio Coach Sarri & Milinkovic-Savic, Possible Transfer Next Year
Muriqi is destined to leave Lazio in next month’s transfer window and he could return to Turkey, with Galatasaray interested in acquiring him. The Süper Lig side have offered to send the 31-year-old van Aanholt to Rome in exchange.
Lazio Edge Closer to Reaching Contract Renewal Agreement With Luiz Felipe
The Dutch left back, who is contracted to Galatasaray until 2024, joined the club on a free transfer in the summer but he has not shown his best in Turkey, so an exchange deal could be suitable for all parties involved.
The 27-year-old Muriqi, who is contracted to Lazio until 2025, has made 14 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 313 minutes. In that time, his only goal contribution was an assist in the 1-1 draw with Torino.
