Lazio Women have signed Italian midfielder Giulia Ferrandi on a free transfer.
As announced in an official statement earlier today, the Biancocelesti have signed the 29-year-old Italian to reinforce coach Massimiliano Catini’s midfield ahead of the second half of the Serie A Femminile season.
Lazio Women Eliminated From Coppa Italia After 1-0 Loss to Fiorentina Women
Ferrandi, who most recently spent a season-and-a-half with Pomigliano, has signed an 18-month contract with Lazio Women that will expire on 30th June 2023. Prior to her move to Pomigliano, she spent two seasons with Florentia, helping them win Serie B Women to secure their promotion to the topflight.
The Italian midfielder started her career with Atalanta, joining the first team in 2007, before moving to Brescia, where she won a Coppa Italia. She also spent time in England with West Ham and Watford, before returning to Italy with Fiorentina, where she won a league title and Coppa Italia.
Ferrandi discussed her move to Lazio Women, saying on Instagram:
Happy and excited to join this historic club and to put myself at the disposal of the team.
Joining in the middle of the season is never easy, but I will try to give my contribution to every goal I have set.
A big thank you to Emmanuel and Sport Management for being there for me during these days and for supporting (and putting up with) me from day one.
Onwards all.
