Lazio defender Francesco Acerbi will undergo a round of medical tests in the coming days.
As reported by Italian media outlet LazioNews24 earlier today, the 33-year-old Italian defender suffered a left thigh injury during the second half of the Biancocelseti’s 3-1 win over Venezia last night.

Acerbi is scheduled to resume training with Lazio on 29th December and in the meantime he’ll undergo a round of medical tests to determine the seriousness of the problem.

If the injury does appear to be problematic, there’s a chance that he’ll miss the Biancocelesti’s first two matches of 2022 against Empoli and Inter, scheduled for the 6th and 9th January respectively.
The 33-year-old Acerbi, who is contracted to Lazio until 2024, has been told by the club’s ultras to leave the club recently following his ‘shhh’ celebration in the team’s 3-1 win over Genoa last week. He later apologised for this gesture, but that did little to calm the tensions.
