Lazio deserved a penalty in their 3-1 win over Venezia last night following a challenge on Manuel Lazzari.

As reported by Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the Biancocelesti cruised to a confident win over the Veneto side last night, even if referee Fabio Maresca made a few mistakes in the match.

Maresca should have awarded Lazio a penalty following Tyronne Ebuehi’s challenge on Lazzari in the box after catching the Italian’s right foot.

The red card given to Tanner Tessmann was also considered a little harsh, considering that he was making a genuine attempt to play the ball.

Despite Maresca’s errors, however, Lazio still managed to secure all three points at the Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo, allowing them to enter the Christmas break with a smile.

The Biancocelesti’s next match is against Empoli on 6th January, after the break, before they travel to Milan to face Simone Inzaghi’s Inter on 9th January.
