Zaccagni After Win Over Venezia: “I Feel I Can Give a Lot to Lazio”

Lazio midfielder Mattia Zaccagni was satisfied after the team’s comfortable 3-1 win over Venezia yesterday.

Speaking to Italian radio broadcaster Lazio Style Radio (via LazioNews24) after the match, the 26-year-old Italian midfielder first analysed the win over the Veneto side.

We played as a real team, taking advantage of the chances we had. In the end we were compact and we took advantage of the counter-attacks.

In the first half they closed down well, but we still found some spaces with Pedro. In the second half we had more space.

The Lazio midfielder touched on the importance of star striker Ciro Immobile and how the team has coped with his absence.

Immobile is important for us. Without him the game varies more.

In the last two games we have done well. I think this is the right way.

Zaccagni commented on his momentum now that he has found physical fitness.

I’m very happy to have regained fitness. I feel I can give a lot to Lazio, I feel good and I’m very happy about that.

Finally, Zaccagni discussed his and the team’s mentality heading into yesterday’s match against Venezia.

It’s not easy to play here in Venice, especially for environmental issues.

But we took the field with the right mentality. We’re growing and we have to start again in January in this way.

The 26-year-old Zaccagni, who joined Lazio on transfer deadline day in the summer on a loan deal with a conditional obligation to buy clause attached, has made 16 appearances across all competitions so far this season for the Biancocelesti.

In that time, he has scored two goals and provided three assists, fitting in well to coach Maurizio Sarri’s 4-3-3 system.
