Lazio could look to exchange Manuel Lazzari for Torino striker Simone Zaza next month.
As reported by Italian newspaper Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24) yesterday, the Biancocelesti are on the hunt for low-cost deals to reinforcement coach Maurizio Sarri’s squad in next month’s transfer window and are searching for a new backup striker.
One idea is Torino’s Zaza; the 30-year-old Italian forward has hardly featured this season for the Granata, despite the injury to Andrea Belotti. As such, Lazio may look to exchange Lazzari for the Torino forward.
Updates are expected over the coming weeks, with the Roman club desperate to find a reliable backup for star striker Ciro Immobile. Vedat Muriqi, the current incumbent in the role, is expected to leave the club next month after failing to convince Sarri of his qualities.
The 30-year-old Zaza, who is contracted to Torino until 2023, has made seven Serie A appearances so far this season, for a total of 99 minutes.
