Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri is incredibly keen to bring Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi to Rome.
As reported by Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the 62-year-old Italian coach wants a new backup forward to replace Vedat Muriqi, who has failed to convince in the first half of the season.

The 21-year-old Hudson-Odoi is Sarri’s favourite to replace Muriqi. Valued at around €30 million and contracted to Chelsea until 2024, Lazio would look to sign the Englishman on a loan deal with a buy option attached.

Sporting director Igli Tare is ready to open talks but a deal may be hard to reach. The Englishman has made 18 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1241 minutes. In that time, he scored two goals and provided four assists.
Sarri remembers Hudson-Odoi well from their time together in West London and he’d be ideal for the coach’s 4-3-3 system, being tactically flexible.
