Lazio midfielder Mattia Zaccagni is reportedly in isolation in Dubai after failing to turn up for training yesterday.
As reported by Italian newspaper La Repubblica (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the 26-year-old Italian midfielder was one of the players who were absent from yesterday’s training session in Formello.

Zaccagni, as seen on social media, spent the Christmas holidays in Dubai with his girlfriend Chiara Nasti. Yesterday she posted a photo of the pair from what appears to be his hotel room.

The report suggests that the two are now in isolation in Dubai, meaning that they could have tested positive for COVID. This has not been confirmed nor denied yet, but it’s unlikely that the player would have missed Lazio’s return to training simply to extend his stay abroad.
The 26-year-old Zaccagni has made 16 appearances across all competitions so far this season for Lazio, for a total of 1204 minutes. In that time, he has scored two goals and provided three assists.
