Lazio have added Mainz forward Jonathan Burkardt to their list of targets ahead of this month’s transfer window.
As reported by Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the Biancocelesti’s main goal in the winter transfer window is to find a new backup striker to replace Vedat Muriqi and now they have added another target to their wish list.

The latest player on the list is the 21-year-old Burkardt, who is contracted to Mainz until 2024. The German club value the player at around €10 million. The player is 1.83 metres tall and is a pacy forward who has a strong dribbling ability, often playing on the wing as well as in the centre.

First though, Lazio will need to sell or find a new home for Muriqi. President Claudio Lotito recently expressed this, noting that the team need to sell before they can buy.
Burkardt has made 19 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1465 minutes. In that time, he has scored 10 goals and provided three assists.
