Lazio Optimistic That Luis Alberto & Zaccagni Will Return to Formello Soon

Lazio are hoping that Mattia Zaccagni and Luis Alberto will be able to return to Formello soon.

As reported by Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the 26-year-old Italian midfielder is reportedly stuck in Dubai with his girlfriend following his Christmas holiday. The rumours suggest that he has either tested positive for COVID or been in contact with someone who has.

Lazio are optimistic, however, that Zaccagni will be able to return shortly. Luis Alberto is in a similar situation, and was probably forced into isolation after being in close contact with someone who has tested positive.

The Spanish midfielder’s situation could also be resolved shortly, perhaps as early as today. The Biancocelesti are hoping that the pair will be available for the match against Empoli next week, scheduled for 6th January.

Both players have been instrumental for coach Maurizio Sarri in recent weeks and so their return will be key as the team look to shine in the second half of the season.
