Unneeded Lazio left back Jordan Lukaku is only a step away from joining Vicenza on a definitive transfer.
As reported by Italian newspaper Il Giornale di Vicenza (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the 27-year-old Belgian full back is incredibly close to joining the Serie B side and the deal could be completed as early as this week.

Contracted to Lazio until June 2022, Lukaku has not made an appearance for the club since August 2020, when he played seven minutes of a 3-1 loss to Napoli. He has mostly been a bit part player in Rome, making 85 appearances but only for a total of 3947 minutes since his arrival in 2016.

Lukaku is ready to start a new adventure in Serie B, where he’ll likely find more playing time and a place to showcase his abilities. He did not impress coach Maurizio Sarri at the pre-season training camp last summer but now he’ll have the chance to shine in the Italian second tier.
