Referee Antonio Giua will oversee Lazio’s upcoming Serie A clash against Empoli.
As reported by Italian media outlet LazioNews24 earlier today, the 33-year-old Calangianus-born referee will lead the officiating team for the Biancocelesti’s first match of 2022. It will be his fourth time overseeing a match involving the Roman club.

Giua has overseen three Lazio matches before in his career, starting with their 5-1 Serie A win over SPAL back in February 2020. He has also officiated the Biancocelesti’s 2-1 win over Sassuolo and 2-1 win over Spezia last season.
During his time in charge of matches involving the Roman club, the Sardinian referee has given out five yellow cards to Lazio players, one second yellow card, one direct red card and one penalty in favour of the Biancocelesti.
