Lazio midfielder Mattia Zaccagni is ready to return following his initial absence from training.
As reported by Italian media outlet LazioNews24 earlier today, the 26-year-old Italian midfielder missed the team’s return to training following the Christmas break but following medical tests at the Paideia clinic this morning, he’s been cleared to return to the pitch.

Zaccagni, together with Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro, underwent the tests at the clinic and now Lazio hope that both players will be ready for the first match of 2022 against Empoli on Thursday this week.

The 26-year-old Zaccagni, who joined the Biancocelesti on transfer deadline day from Hellas Verona, has made 16 appearances across all competitions so far this season, scoring two goals and providing three assists in that time.
The player took a little while to find his footing in Rome but over the last two months he’s began to find his form, impressing coach Maurizio Sarri with his performances.
