Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri is expected to put pen to paper on his contract extension after the match against Empoli.
As reported by Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24) earlier today, president Claudio Lotito has now returned from his Christmas holidays and so a meeting will be scheduled between the pair after the upcoming match against the Tuscan side.
Sarri will sign a new deal that will extend his stay in Rome until 2025, with slightly higher wages and a clause allowing him to pay a fee to free himself in case a top European club comes calling.
The duo will meet to secure the Lazio coach’s future before discussing this month’s transfer market, where they will strategise about the top targets and what players are needed before the month’s end.
Sarri has overseen 24 Biancocelesti matches since joining the club last summer, averaging 1.63 points per match across the league and Europa League.
