Lazio midfielder Gonzalo Escalante has officially joined La Liga side Deportivo Alavés on loan.
As announced in an official press release last night, the 28-year-old Argentinian midfielder has joined the Spanish side on a six-month loan deal with a conditional obligation to buy clause attached.
Escalante has already joined his new teammates in Spain and he took part in a training session with the Alavés squad this morning.
The Argentinian midfielder did not convince coach Maurizio Sarri in the pre-season training camp last summer and so he has hardly featured this campaign for Lazio, playing only eight minutes in the season opener against Empoli back in August.
The 28-year-old Escalante never particularly settled in Rome following his arrival on a free transfer back in September 2020. He made 31 appearances in total for the Biancocelesti in his 18 months in the Italian capital, for a total of 1022 minutes. In that time, he provided one assist.
