Lazio Set Sights on Everton Midfielder Allan but Must Sell Players First

Lazio are interested in signing Everton midfielder Allan but they need to resolve their issues with the liquidity index first.

As reported by Italian newspaper Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24) earlier today, sporting director Igli Tare wants to strengthen the Biancocelesti’s midfield and he has opened first contacts for two possible reinforcements.

The first of these is the 31-year-old Allan, who is contracted to Everton until 2023. He has recently been dropped by coach Rafa Benitez for a number of games, only playing once in the last five matches. He could leave the Premier League side on loan this month.

The other player is Inter midfielder Matias Vecino. His contract expires with the Nerazzurri at the end of the season and so could be signed on a low-cost deal this month.

Lazio cannot make any moves in the transfer market yet, however, as they are still blocked by the now-infamous liquidity index, meaning that they’ll need to work on their outgoing market first.
