Danilo Cataldi will be forced to miss Lazio’s next league match against Atalanta after picking up his fifth booking of the season.
As highlighted by Italian newspaper LazioNews24 last night, the 27-year-old Italian midfielder picked up his fifth yellow card of this Serie A campaign yesterday in the 28th minute of the match, meaning that he’ll be suspended for next weekend’s match against Atalanta.
This is a problem for coach Maurizio Sarri, who is also unlikely to have Pedro available for Lazio’s clash with the Bergamo side. The coach has recently been placing a lot of trust in Cataldi, so his absence is frustrating for such a big game.
The 27-year-old Cataldi, who is contracted to the Biancocelesti until 2024, has made 25 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1310 minutes. In that time, he has scored one goal and provided two assists, adapting well to Sarri’s system.
