Lazio’s confident win over Salernitana last night was a little spoilt by an injury to Spanish winger Pedro.

As highlighted by Italian media outlet LazioNews24 last night, the 34-year-old Spanish winger suffered a calf injury during the 40th minute of the Biancocelesti’s Serie A clash against Salernitana, forcing coach Maurizio Sarri to replace him with Felipe Anderson.

Tests will be carried out on Pedro over the coming days but it’s likely that he’ll miss Lazio’s upcoming Coppa Italia Round of 16 clash against Udinese on Tuesday next week.

The 34-year-old Pedro, who is contracted to Lazio until 2023, has been an important player this season for Sarri. He has made 27 appearances across all competitions, for a total of 1927 minutes. In that time, he has scored eight goals and provided four assists.

The Biancocelesti will be hoping that Pedro will be back to full fitness in time for the match against Atalanta next weekend.
