Official: Torino Sign Mohamed Fares on Loan From Lazio

Torino have officially signed left back Mohamed Fares on a loan deal with a buy option attached from Lazio.

As announced in an official statement last week, the Granata have signed the 25-year-old Algerian wing back on a six-month loan deal with an option to buy clause attached, providing coach Ivan Juric a much-needed reinforcement in this month’s transfer window.

Fares spent the first six months of this season on loan with Genoa, but a serious muscle injury stopped him from becoming a first team regular. He missed 10 consecutive league matches due to the injury, which spoilt his time in the Ligurian capital, and he only made nine appearances in total for the Rossoblu.

The Algerian wing back did not impress coach Maurizio Sarri at the pre-season training camp last year, so Lazio will be hoping that Fares impresses enough on loan with Torino to earn a permanent move there. He is currently contracted to Lazio until 2025.
