Lazio’s recent history in the Coppa Italia is good, but the same cannot be said for coach Maurizio Sarri.

As detailed by Italian newspaper Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the Biancocelesti have won the cup seven times total, three of which have come under president Claudio Lotito’s reign (2009, 2013 and 2019).

Lazio’s Probable Starting Lineup vs Udinese: Sarri Makes Minimal Rotations

Sarri has had a more frustrating past with the Coppa Italia; the Lazio coach never won the trophy with Napoli and he lost with Juventus in the finals against the Partenopei two years ago.

During his time with Chelsea, the Italian coach was knocked out of the fifth round of the FA Cup by Manchester United and he lost the Carabao Cup final to Manchester City.

Udinese’s Probable Starting Lineup for Coppa Italia Clash vs Lazio

Lazio will be hoping that their magic in the cup has an effect on Sarri, as it represents the team’s best chance for silverware this season.

The winner of tonight’s match against Udinese will face AC Milan in the quarter-finals of the competition. The Rossoneri beat Genoa in their Round of 16 clash.
