Matches between Lazio and Atalanta have become increasingly important in recent years, making the affair tenser.
As reported by Italian newspaper Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the battles between the two sides have become a big match over the last few years and the first match between them this season, which ended 2-2, was one of the Biancocelesti’s best performances under coach Maurizio Sarri.
Last year, Lazio and Atalanta played each other twice in one week. First in the Coppa Italia, when the Bergamo side won 3-2, and then in Serie A, where Simone Inzaghi’s side won thanks to a Vedat Muriqi goal.
In the last three years, including the 22 games of this season, 27 points have separated the two clubs, and the Biancocelesti want to start closing that gap.
