The Winter Transfer Window ends on January 31st, and to this date, Lazio have not yet made a signing to reinforce their squad.
Despite this, staying up to date on the transfer activity of the Biancocelesti is considered somewhat of a hobby; it is only normal to want to learn all about the team’s plans so that you can, for example, know what to expect in their next matches and indulge in betting on your favourite players. In attack, both Torino’s Zaza and Udinese-owned Lasagna do not fit Sarri’s system, nor are they appreciated as a proper backup striker to Ciro Immobile. This is why a striker outside of Serie A may be considered; however, there is always the option of signing someone on a low-cost, last-minute deal such as Gianluca Lapadula if Igli Tare is unable to make his magic work.
Regarding the backline, Sarri had reportedly requested that a left-back be signed this transfer window. This is because both Elseid Hysaj and Adam Marusic, the two players currently operating in this role, are not primarily meant for this position. Paris Saint-Germain’s Kurzawa, Chelsea’s Emerson, and Lille’s Reinildo have been linked to the club and while the French full-back is not appreciated by Sarri, both the Ital-Brazilian and Mozambican are. However, as Emerson will stay on loan at Lyon, all fingers point towards the remaining option in Reinildo, who is valued at around €10 million.
Furthermore, Lazio could look to add a central midfielder, a central defender, and a goalkeeper considering the current situation with all three positions. However, for now, Laziali worldwide have to sit back and hope for the best; while a couple of moves could occur in January, Lazio will likely postpone most of their operations until the Summer Transfer Window.
