Before Manchester United can sign Milinkovic-Savic, though, they want to wait and see what the new coach’s plans are, with Ralf Rangnick likely to move into a backroom role in the summer.

The 26-year-old Milinkovic-Savic, who is contracted to Lazio until 2024, has an estimated market value of around €70 million and president Claudio Lotito is incredibly unlikely to let the player leave for any less, being a shrewd negotiator.

The Serbian midfielder has scored seven goals and provided three assists in 21 Serie A appearances this season.
