Lazio picked up a relatively meaningless point from last night’s painfully dull goalless draw with Atalanta.
Neither side had particularly dangerous chances in the match and play was often bogged down in the midfield. A few weak chances provided the most excitement, but the highlight for everyone inside the Stadio Olimpico came when referee Simone Sozza blew the final whistle.
Below are the two teams in Lazio’s 0-0 draw with Atalanta:
- Lazio (4-3-3): Thomas Strakosha; Elseid Hysaj (68′ Manuel Lazzari), Luiz Felipe, Patric, Adam Marusic; Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Lucas Leiva, Luis Alberto (78′ Toma Basic); Felipe Anderson, Ciro Immobile, Mattia Zaccagni.
- Atalanta (3-4-2-1): Juan Musso; Berat Djimsiti, Merih Demiral, Jose Palomino; Davide Zappacosta, Giorgio Scalvini (60′ Joakim Maehle), Remo Feuler, Giuseppe Pezzella; Matteo Pessina (84′ Alassane Sidibe), Aleksey Miranchuk (70′ Rafael Toloi); Roberto Piccoli (84′ Tommaso De Nipoti).
Both teams shared some chances after the first 15 minutes, with the game struggling to get off the ground.
Little else of note happened in the first half, with both teams only having two shots each, and neither had one on target.
Things were a little more lively in the second half, with Atalanta having two early chances with Djimsiti and Pessina.
The pendulum then swung Lazio’s way, but Immobile missed the target following a Marusic cross, and Zaccagni’s shot hit the post in the 63rd minute.
The final whistle was finally blown in the 93rd minute, ending possibly Serie A’s dullest game this season.
