Expiring Inter Midfielder Vecino Is a Concrete Summer Target for Lazio

Matias Vecino will not leave Inter this month but he is a concrete target for Lazio in the summer.

As reported by Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the 30-year-old Uruguayan midfielder is set to remain with the Nerazzurri this month, with Stefano Sensi’s move to Sampdoria now imminent.

Vecino‘s contract expires with Inter in the summer, and so he’ll be available on a free transfer. Lazio are firmly interested in signing the player, with coach Maurizio Sarri believing that he’ll be a strong addition to the midfield.

The 30-year-old Vecino, who has been with Inter since 2017, has made 17 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 461 minutes. In that time, he has scored one goal, starting only once in the league.

Lazio’s main target for this month’s transfer window is Hellas Verona centre back Nicolo Casale and an offer has already been reportedly agreed with the Gialloblu.
