Patric’s contract will not be renewed with Lazio amidst interest from La Liga side Valencia.

As reported by Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the Spanish side are incredibly keen on signing the 28-year-old defender, but a deal does not seem likely to go through in the last few days of this transfer window.

Patric’s contract expires with Lazio at the end of the season and a renewal isn’t likely to be agreed. His agent Enzo Raiola met the Biancocelesti management yesterday and it’s likely that he’ll leave the club on a free transfer in the summer.

Whilst Lazio would be open to a deal with Valencia now, it’s unlikely to occur because of the injury to Francesco Acerbi and the difficulty in signing Hellas Verona’s Nicolo Casale.

The 28-year-old Patric, who joined Lazio in 2015 from Barcelona, has made 15 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 958 minutes. In that time, he has scored one goal and helped the side keep seven clean sheets.
