Ex-Lazio Forward Caicedo Reunites With Inzaghi at Inter on Loan From Genoa

Inter have officially signed former Lazio forward Felipe Caicedo on a six-month loan deal from Genoa.

As announced by Inter earlier today, the 33-year-old Ecuadorian forward has signed for the Nerazzurri on loan until the end of the season. It’s likely that a buy option has been attached to the deal, although this has not yet been confirmed.

Caicedo will be reunited with coach Simone Inzaghi, who he knows well from their years together in Rome with Lazio. The Ecuadorian forward will play as a rotation option in the Inter squad, and he could pair up with Joaquin Correa once again.

Caicedo made 139 appearances across all competitions for Lazio from 2017 to 2021, for a total of 6241 minutes. In that time, he scored 33 goals and provided 15 assists, including a number of last-minute winners or equalisers, winning the hearts of both the fans and coach Inzaghi.

The Ecuadorian forward was sold by Lazio to Genoa last summer in a deal worth around €2 million. He is contracted to the Rossoblu until 2024.
