Lazio President Lotito: “We’ll Do Something in the Transfer Market”

Lazio president Claudio Lotito has confirmed that the club plan to make some transfers before the closure of the window on Monday.

Making a brief statement to Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the Biancocelesti president confirmed his intentions to act on the transfer market.

Unfortunately in the last few days I’ve been busy but now I’m taking the to the pitch. The fans have to be calm because we’ll do something in the transfer market.

Lazio have been linked to a number of players in recent weeks, including Atalanta forward Aleksej Miranchuk and Hellas Verona defender Nicolo Casale.

Before they can buy, however, they must first sell. The top candidate is Vedat Muriqi, who will be joining Spanish side Mallorca, and Denis Vavro has already left for FC Copenhagen.

Lazio need to work fast, however, as the transfer window officially closes at 8pm local time on Monday evening, leaving little time for transfer moves.

The Biancocelesti’s January transfer window has been heavily impacted by the now infamous liquidity index, which is completely blocking them from making any incoming transfers. This is why they’ve been working so hard to sell Muriqi this month.
