Lazio to Hold One Final Meeting With Hellas Verona in Quest to Sign Casale

Lazio will hold one final meeting with Hellas Verona as they work to sign Nicolo Casale in this month’s transfer window.

As reported by Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla earlier today, the Biancocelesti are incredibly keen to sign the 23-year-old Italian centre back and president Claudio Lotito spoke to his Gialloblu counterpart Maurizio Setti this morning to discuss the defender again.

Lazio will sign Casale in June, if possible, but they’d prefer to secure his signature now. The problem is that they cannot guarantee a deal with an obligation to buy clause attached and Hellas Verona, at least for now, aren’t open to a loan deal with a buy option attached.

Lazio will meet with Hellas Verona again tomorrow and there’s still some glimmers of hope, but now it seems unlikely that the Italian defender will join the Biancocelesti this month.

Casale has made 22 Serie A appearances so far this season, for a total of 1515 minutes. In that time, he has provided one assist and helped the side keep two clean sheets.
