Lazio defender Riza Durmisi has officially joined Eredivisie side Sparta Rotterdam on loan.
As seen via Instagram and announced by the club, the 28-year-old Danish left-back has left Rome until the end of the season, where he will be hoping for regular game time in order to relaunch his career.
Lazio failed to find a move for Durmisi in the summer transfer window and so he has been training in Rome, waiting for a move to occur. This has now occurred with Sparta Rotterdam securing him on a six-month dry loan.
The defender joined the Biancocelesti back in 2018; however, he failed to convince former manager Simone Inzaghi and was placed on the sidelines, completely out of the squad.
He has had loan spells at OGC Nice (January 2020 to June 2020) and Salernitana (January 2021 to June 2021) since, but also did not perform up to standards, only managing to make 5 appearances at both of the aforementioned clubs.
He has only ever made 19 first team appearances for Lazio and will once again look to find a permanent new home this summer. His contract at the club expires on 30.06.2023.
