Official: Lazio Register Young Serbian Defender Kamenovic 6 Months After his Arrival in Rome

Lazio have officially deposited Dimitrije Kamenovic’s contract with Lega Serie A, adding him to their squad.

As announced by Lazio yesterday, the 21-year-old Serbian defender is now officially a part of Maurizio Sarri’s squad, available to be used in Serie A matches six months after signing from Serbian side Cukaricki.

Lazio will now have to pay Cukaricki €3 million for Kamenovic, who failed to convince coach Maurizio Sarri at the pre-season training camp in Auronzo di Cadore last summer. The player also takes up one of the two non-EU player slots in the squad, with the other slot being filled by Felipe Anderson.

The 21-year-old Kamenovic has been training with the squad in the last six months but has done little to prove himself to Sarri, who will likely use the Serbian defender in rotation. He is contracted to the Biancocelesti until 2026, so there is time for the club to recoup their investment.
