Lazio defender Dimitrije Kamenovic has asked for coach Maurizio Sarri for a chance to impress after being registered for the squad.
As reported by Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the 21-year-old Serbian defender was registered by the Biancocelesti on transfer deadline day, making him available for both Serie A and the Europa League, as well as the Coppa Italia.
Sarri Gives Lazio President Lotito an Ultimatum Following Poor January Window
Sarri has previously trialled Kamenovic as both a left back and centre back, but he was never particularly impressed with the player. The Serbian defender has shown strong character and patience, though, and has continued to work hard in training in Formello.
Lazio Ultras Announce Protests After Incredibly Poor January Transfer Window
Kamenovic has asked Sarri for a chance and he wants to prove that he can be a part of the Lazio squad. Considering the lack of choices in the left back role, the 63-year-old Italian coach may decide to give the player a shot in the coming weeks.
Considering the fact that those idiots Lotito and Tare loaned out half of the team and didn’t bring any new players, I’d say there’s a great chance that Kamenović gets some playing time.
Sarri will be using Patric/Radu a lot more. Especially with Acerbi and Lazzari both out now, Hysaj/Marusic/Radu/Patric need to step up; give Kamenovic minutes here and there like Raul Moro/Luka Romero.
