The upcoming Coppa Italia clash between Milan and Lazio will also see an on-pitch duel between Olivier Giroud and Ciro Immobile.
As reported by Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the 31-year-old Italian striker is continuing to drive the Biancocelesti forward this season, having scored 18 league goals in 20 games this season, and it’s increasingly becoming a one man show in Rome.
Immobile is now ready to face off against Giroud, who was close to a move to Lazio in January 2020, in the upcoming Coppa Italia quarter-final clash. The Italian striker is keen to win more silverware and has fond memories of the cup, winning in the 2018/19 season.
Giroud is coming into the match against Lazio in good form, having scored both the goals in Milan’s important 2-1 derby win over Inter on Saturday. The Frenchman is finally finding his footing in the Lombardy capital and he’ll be looking to confirm his good form on Wednesday.
