Milan & Inter Linked Luis Alberto Had Long Meeting with Lazio’s Management Last Month

Luis Alberto put in his best performance of the season for Lazio against Fiorentina, with a recent meeting possibly providing an explanation behind by the change.

As reported by Italian newspaper Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the Spaniard’s agent Alvaro Torres had a long meeting with Lazio’s management at Formello during last month’s transfer window.

Coach Maurizio Sarri was convinced that he was going to lose Luis Alberto due to his increased usage of Toma Basic, and the opportunity to leave had presented itself last summer, with interest coming from Milan and Inter.

Last month, no clubs came knocking for Luis Alberto and the number ten has no intention of pushing for a move away, so it’s likely that the meeting helped him realise his importance to Sarri and Lazio.

It’s impossible to predict what will happen at the end of the season, but for the time being, the fans can hopefully enjoy watching the Spaniard returning to his best.
