Milan forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic is set to miss the upcoming match against Lazio due to a tendon injury.

As reported by Italian media outlet LazioNews24 yesterday, the 40-year-old Swedish forward took part in a personalised training session yesterday in Milanello, still recovering from the Achilles tendon injury suffered last month.

The injury forced Ibrahimovic to miss Milan’s 2-1 derby win over Inter and now he’s set to miss the Coppa Italia quarter-final clash with Lazio as well.

The 40-year-old Swede previously suffered from this injury at the start of the season, and it forced him to miss four consecutive league matches, so the Rossoneri are taking things carefully.

Ibrahimovic, whose contract expires with the Milanese club at the end of the season, has made 19 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1068 minutes. In that time, he’s scored eight goals and provided two assists, and it’s likely that he’ll be offered a one-year contract renewal soon.
