Lazio Goalkeeper Reina Ready to Take Revenge in Coppa Italia Clash Against Milan

Pepe Reina is set to start for Lazio tomorrow in their Coppa Italia clash against Milan, ready to face his former side.

As reported by Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the 39-year-old Spaniard has again fallen down the hierarchy in the Biancocelesti squad, losing his regular starting spot to Thomas Strakosha.

Reina will start against Milan tomorrow, however, and he’s looking to impress for Lazio against his former side. The Spanish veteran also wants to make coach Maurizio Sarri’s squad choices a little more difficult in future by putting in a convincing performance.

Reina previously played a back-up role in the Milan squad, playing behind Gianluigi Donnarumma, and he has no desire to settle in this role this campaign, although it’s not a problem for the player.

The 39-year-old Spaniard, whose contract expires with the Biancocelesti at the end of this season, has made 16 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1470 minutes. In that time, he’s conceded 29 goals and kept three clean sheets.
