Lazio have sounded out a possible deal for Atalanta midfielder Matteo Pessina ahead of this summer’s transfer window.

As reported by Italian media outlet TuttoMercatoWeb yesterday, the Biancocelesti opened talks with goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini’s entourage recently and during these talks they also had the chance to ask about Pessina.

Coach Maurizio Sarri is a big fan of Pessina and believes he’d be a good fit for his Lazio team, but Atalanta are unlikely to want to sell the player.

The 24-year-old Italian midfielder, who is contracted to the Bergamo club until 2025, has made 22 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1172 minutes. In that time, he has scored two goals.
