Tottenham Proposed Dele Alli-Lazzari Exchange to Lazio in January Window

Tottenham offered Lazio Dele Alli in exchange for Manuel Lazzari last month, but the Biancocelesti decided to register Dimitrije Kamenovic instead.

As reported by Italian media outlet Cittaceleste yesterday, the Premier League side were interested in signing the Italian full back to strengthen Antonio Conte’s squad, with the player being a perfect fit for the three-at-the-back system used in North London.

Tottenham offered Dele Alli to Lazio in exchange for Lazzari and they were prepared to pay for the difference in salary between the two players. The talks lead up to a dry loan without any payments.

Lazio decided not to pursue the deal, however, because they chose to register Kamenovic instead. The Serbian defender filled the final non-EU player slot available in the squad, something that Dele Alli would have filled following Brexit.

The Biancocelesti signed Kamenovic from FC Cukaricki last summer in a deal worth around €2.5 million last summer.
