Francesco Acerbi’s return to action has been a delayed a little, and he’ll miss Lazio’s two upcoming matches.
As reported by Italian newspaper La Repubblica (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the 33-year-old Italian defender has still not recovered from the muscle injury suffered during the 3-3 draw with Empoli at the start of last month.
Acerbi will be forced to miss Lazio’s upcoming matches against Porto and Udinese this week, and he’s not expected to return to squad training until 21st February at the earliest.
His absence has not been a bad thing for the Biancocelesti; they have kept four consecutive clean sheets in their last four league outings, a sign of some defensive stability.
The 33-year-old Acerbi, who is contracted to Lazio until 2025, has made 24 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 2081 minutes. In that time, he’s scored three goals and provided two assists.
