Lazio midfielder Mattia Zaccagni did well to impress Italy coach Roberto Mancini during the win over Bologna on Saturday.
As reported by Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the 26-year-old Italian midfielder’s strong performance in the win over the Rossoblu was witnessed live by Mancini, who was present in the stands of the Stadio Olimpico.
Zaccagni has finally found his footing with Lazio and has quickly become one of coach Maurizio Sarri’s favourite players, consistently performing to a high standard and working hard to learn as much as possible.
The Italian midfielder’s performance impressed Mancini, who is considering calling him up for the Azzurri’s upcoming World Cup play-off matches. The former Hellas Verona man was recently called up for a training camp with the national team last month.
Zaccagni has scored four goals and provided six assists in 19 Serie A appearances this season, impressing after recovering from various injuries.
