Referee Gozubuyuk to Officiate the First Leg of Lazio’s Europa League Play-Off vs Porto

Dutch referee Serdar Gozubuyuk will lead the officiating team in Lazio’s upcoming Europa League clash against Porto.

As highlighted by Italian media outlet LazioNews24 earlier today, the 36-year-old Dutchman will oversee his second ever Biancocelesti game this week, leading an all Dutch team at the Estádio do Dragão on Thursday evening.

Below is the full officiating team for Lazio’s Europa League match against Porto:

  • Referee: Serdar Gozubuyuk
  • Assistant Referees: Joost van Zuilen – Johan Balder
  • VAR: Pol van Boekel

The first Lazio match that Gozubuyuk officiated came in October 2018, when Eintracht Frankfurt hosted the Biancocelesti in the Europa League group stages. The Roman club went on to lose the match 4-1, being two men down after a second yellow card to Dusan Basta and a straight red to Joaquin Correa.

The first leg of the Europa League play-off tie between Lazio and Porto kicks off in Portugal on Thursday evening at 21.00 CET. The return leg comes a week later on 24th February in Rome.
