Stefan Radu Reportedly Signs One-Year Contract Extension With Lazio

Stefan Radu has already put pen to paper on a one-year contract extension with Lazio.

As reported by Italian newspaper La Repubblica (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the Biancocelesti and the 35-year-old Romanian defender have already agreed upon the extension and he has already signed the relevant paperwork.

Lazio only need to deposit the new contract to Lega Serie A in order to make Radu‘s extension official. The deal means that his run of loyalty with the club has now been extended to 15 years.

Radu joined Lazio in the summer of 2008 from Romanian side FC Dinamo in a deal worth around €5 million. Since then, the defender has made 418 appearances across all competitions, scoring eight goals and providing 21 assists. He initially struggled to break into Maurizio Sarri’s squad this season, but he has since earnt some game time under the 63-year-old Italian coach.

The 35-year-old Romanian centre-back is now Lazio’s all-time appearance record holder, ahead of second-place Giuseppe Favalli who made 401 appearances for the club.
