Lazio star Ciro Immobile missed today’s training session in Formello ahead of tomorrow’s match against Porto.

As reported by Italian media outlet LazioNews24 earlier today, the 31-year-old Italian striker missed the final training session ahead of the Europa League play-off match due to some flu-like symptoms, forcing him to rest at home.

Lazio are confident that Immobile will join the squad for the trip to Porto tomorrow and he’s still expected to start against the Portuguese side, assuming his condition doesn’t deteriorate.

Immobile is currently carrying a slight knee injury and this forced him off the pitch in the 4-0 Coppa Italia loss to Milan last week. Considering the lack of backup signed in last month’s transfer window, the Biancocelesti cannot really afford to lose the Italian striker.

The former Torino man has made 29 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 2366 minutes. In that time, he’s scored 23 goals and provided three assists.
