Lazio Midfielder Luis Alberto Again Expresses Desire to Return to Spain

Lazio midfielder Luis Alberto has reiterated his desire to return to Spain soon, suggesting a possible departure in the summer.

Speaking on Spanish personality Gerard Romero on Twitch.tv earlier today, the 29-year-old Spanish midfielder commented on his desire to return to his native country at some point soon.

I’ve been saying this for a very long time, I would like to come back to live in Spain, I have a lot of desire to come back, let’s see if I will soon.

I want to come back to feel good physically and to enjoy myself.

The comments suggest that Lazio may be forced to sell Luis Alberto in the upcoming summer transfer window. He currently has a market value of around €32 million, but it’s unlikely that president Claudio Lotito would let him leave for less than €35 million.

He has struggled to maintain consistent minutes under coach Maurizio Sarri this season. In some games, he’s looked like an electric creative threat, and in other matches, he was more of an apparition, barely visible in the midfield.

Luis Alberto has made 31 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 2002 minutes. In that time, he’s scored three goals and provided seven assists.
