Lazzari at Risk of Missing Lazio’s Upcoming Derby Della Capitale Against Roma

Lazio full-back Manuel Lazzari’s injury is more serious than expected and he could miss the Derby della Capitale against Roma.

As reported by Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the 28-year-old Italian full-back suffered a painful hamstring injury in the 3-0 win over Bologna on the weekend, suffering a grade two tear.

The injury means that Lazzari will be unavailable for around 30-40 days, meaning that there’s a chance that he could miss Lazio’s key derby clash against Roma next month on 20th March.

Lazzari will do everything possible to try and recover, but the most likely scenario for now is that he will return in time for the match against Sassuolo on 3rd April.

The 28-year-old Italian full-back has made 29 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1386 minutes. In that time, he has scored two goals and provided one assist,  slowly adapting to Maurizio Sarri‘s system.
